Sarah Sahagian is a long-time non-profit leader, journalist, and documentarian. In her time as a non-profit Executive Director, Sarah has led The Speech and Debate Canada Foundation, The Canadian Children’s Book Centre, and The Rainbow Songs Foundation. The non-profit programs she has overseen have directly benefitted more than 600,000 stakeholders across Canada since 2017. Sarah is also proud to have spearheaded numerous fundraising initiatives, securing over $1.5 million in grants and sponsorship funding since 2020.
As a journalist, Sarah’s byline has appeared in outlets such as The Washington Post, Refinery29, Romper, and The Toronto Star. Her recent podcast documentary miniseries, Before Morgentaler, is a meticulously researched examination of the history of abortion rights in Canada. Co-written, co-produced and narrated by Sarah, Before Morgentaler premiered on The Big Story talk show in March of 2023. The Reheat, the podcast Sarah co-hosts on the history of celebrity culture, was named of the “Best Canadian Podcasts of 2021” by Amazon. No matter which professional hat she is wearing, Sarah’s belief in intersectional feminism guides her.
